SOLUTION: An input device 11 is grasped by a user and operated in a three-dimensional free space in order to remotely operate an image display 12. The image display 12 obtains a gesture signal in the free space of the input device 11. The image display 12 sets a mode on the basis of a first gesture in the free space of the input device 11, and executes processing in the mode set based on the first gesture on the basis of a second gesture in the free space of the input device 11 different from the first gesture.
