<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a technology that prevents a belt unit from being separated from an apparatus body during transport, while suppressing the size of an image forming apparatus from being enlarged. <P>SOLUTION: When the image forming apparatus 1 is transported, separation preventing member 40 is mounted between the belt unit 27 and a counter part 9A, thereby pressing the belt unit 27. This prevents, for example, the belt unit 27 from being separated from the apparatus body even if exciting force acts during the transport or prevents the belt frame 27C from cracking due to the exciting force.
