<p><P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a reliable vehicle theft detection-notification system demonstrating the effect even when a key of a vehicle is stolen without requiring any operation of a user. <P>SOLUTION: The vehicle includes an onboard communication terminal 1b including a position measuring sensor 1h, a means for detecting the start or the stop of an engine, and a communication means for executing the transmission-reception of the data. A user of a vehicle posses a mobile communication terminal having a position measuring sensor. When the means for detecting the start or the stop of the engine detects that the engine is started, the onboard notification terminal obtains position information of the onboard communication terminal and position information of the mobile communication terminal. The distance between the two is obtained from the position of the onboard communication terminal and the position of the mobile communication terminal. When the distance is equal to or more than the predetermined value, it is determined that the vehicle is stolen.
