PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To solve the following problem that the use of a dedicated fixing part or the addition of a structure for fixing an optical fiber to a main plate and a train wheel bridge has been required since a normal optical fiber is used as an optical waveguide in an already proposed technique capable of characteristically freely arranging a light source and a light-receiving element by guiding light through the use of an optical waveguide and substantially easing restrictions on the arrangement of parts in an electronic timepiece with a reference position detection function. SOLUTION: Optical waveguides 105 and 110 are formed in a circuit substrate 201. The electronic timepiece with a pointer position function includes a light-emitting part for directing light of a light-emitting element 102 guided by the optical waveguide 105 or a light-receiving part for receiving light of the light-emitting element and guiding it to the light-receiving element 112 by the optical waveguide 110.
