<p><P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To attain high compression while suppressing image quality deterioration through compression corresponding to characteristics of images. <P>SOLUTION: The invention relates to an image processing apparatus including: a plurality of compression means (first compressor CM1, second compressor CM2) for compressing image information according to different compression methods; and a compression switcher 22 for extracting a plurality of color information items constituting image information in a color space representing image information, and selecting any one of the plurality of compression means (first compressor CM1, second compressor CM2) in accordance with hue angles of the plurality of extracted color information items. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2011,JPO&INPIT</p> |
