PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To suppress a drop in throughput of communication data caused by switching of a modulation method. SOLUTION: A method for switching a modulation method is used when data communication is executed by one modulation method selected from in a plurality of different modulation methods. The method has a communication state acquiring step S1 for acquiring a value indicating a communication state of the data communication, a communication state calculating step S2 for calculating variations in the value indicating the communication state, and selecting steps S3-S6, S8-S11 for selecting one modulation method from among the plurality of modulation methods on the basis of a newly acquired value indicating the communication state and variations in the value.
