PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To prevent the wobbling of a friction pad, to return the friction pad upon the release of braking, and to suppress the generation of clonk noise by a pad retainer. SOLUTION: The pad retainer 10 includes: an inner-side piece 10f brought into contact with an inner-side face 3f in a disk radius direction of a pad guide groove 3d; a pad resilient part 10c pressing a lug piece 6b of the friction pad 6 outwardly in the disk radius direction; an outer-side piece 10g brought into contact with an outer-side face 3e in the disk radius direction of the pad guide groove 3d; and a depth-side piece 10h connecting the outer-side piece to the inner-side piece. In the pad resilient part 10c, an elastic loop 10b is formed by bending a thin elongated piece base extending to an opposed disk rotor side of the inner-side piece 10f in an arc state, inclining the thin elongated piece tip end extending from the elastic loop 10b to the disk rotor direction outwardly in the disk radius direction and leaning it in a warped state.
