PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a fuel supply pump capable of preventing the expansion of a clearance between an inner circumference surface of a cylinder and an outer circumference surface of a plunger, capable of increasing the force feeding efficiency of a fuel supply pump by reducing a leak quantity of high-pressure fuel, and capable of reducing a noise level of a fuel supply pump. SOLUTION: The fuel supply pump includes a plunger sliding in a cylinder, pressurizes fuel sucked to a pressure chamber formed at a part of a cylinder by the plunger, and feeds the fuel to a common rail to which a fuel injection part of an internal combustion engine is connected. The plunger communicates with the pressure chamber, and includes a space for preventing the expansion of a clearance between the plunger and the cylinder. COPYRIGHT: (C)2011,JPO&INPIT
