PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To obtain a building unit for promptly executing fire fighting without sacrificing its indoor space and with its fire breaking location specified. SOLUTION: When the rate of increase in temperature measured by a temperature sensor 68 is more than 10°C/min, a fire is determined to be generated and a smothering fire extinguishing agent 56 is distributed from an outlet 62 near the fire breaking location. At this time, a fan pressurizes the interior of a pan 48 for distributing the smothering fire extinguishing agent 56 from the outlet 62 so as to intensively distribute the smothering fire extinguishing agent 56 over a wide area of the fire breaking location around the outlet 62, thereby promptly executing the fire fighting so as to effectively extinguish the fire.
