Cleaning chemical substances, comprises providing a carrier with a stationary phase, loading the carrier with the chemical substance by bringing the carrier in contact with a directed fluid stream in a first direction, which includes the chemical substance, cleaning the chemical substance by means of a fluid stream which comprises a cleaning agent, eluting the chemical substance from the carrier by bringing the carrier in contact with a directed fluid stream in a second direction, which includes eluting agent. An independent claim is also included for a device for cleaning the chemical substances comprising a carrier which includes a stationary phase, a first inlet pipe (3) to bring the carrier in contact with a directed fluid stream in a first direction and a second inlet pipe (5) to bring the carrier in contact with a directed fluid stream in a second direction.
