PURPOSE: A mobile terminal and a method of transmitting and receiving content using the same are provided to secure content by considering the intention of a content transmitting person between mobile terminals. CONSTITUTION: A memory(160) stores one or more authentication methods. When content is transmitted to an external terminal, a control unit(180) receives a selection signal for one authentication method. The control unit receives authentication information corresponding to the selected authentication method. The control unit transmits security data, including the selected authentication method, the inputted authentication information, and the content through a wireless communication unit(110).
