<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a polypeptide having altered effector function and comprising a variant Fc region. <P>SOLUTION: A variant of a parent polypeptide containing an Fc region, more effectively, mediating antibody-dependent cell-mediated cytotoxicity (ADCC) in the presence of human effector cells or binding to Fc gamma receptors (FcγR) in better affinity than that of the parent polypeptide, and containing at least one amino acid modification in the FC region is provided.
