Disclosed is a curing agent composition which is capable of securing a sufficient working life without lowering the final strength of a mold. Also disclosed is a method for producing a mold using the curing agent composition. The curing agent composition is a curing agent composition for a water-soluble phenol resin that is used for producing a mold, and contains a branched ester compound having 5-13 carbon atoms, said branched ester compound being derived from an alcohol and a carboxylic acid having a branched chain.
