PURPOSE: A method for controlling a cooking instrument is provided to efficiently and safety cook food using steam for supplementing evaporated moisture. CONSTITUTION: A method for controlling a cooking instrument is as follows. A high-frequency heating source is supplied to a cooking chamber(1). A steam heater(25) heats steam water for generating steam supplied to the cooking chamber. A water supply pump(27) supplies the heated steam water to the cooking chamber. After the operation of the steam heater is finished, the operation of the high-frequency heating source is completed.
