PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an optical waveguide formed on the surface of a flexible printed wiring board and having excellent flex resistance.

SOLUTION: An epoxy resin composition comprises a liquid epoxy compound (A), a solid epoxy compound (B), and a cationic curing initiator (C). As the liquid epoxy compound (A), a liquid epoxy compound (A1) represented by general formula (I) is used. In the general formula (I): R1and R2are each independently a hydrogen atom or a methyl group; R3to R6are each independently a hydrogen atom, a methyl group, a chlorine atom or a bromine atom; R7is a 1-15C alkyleneoxy group or alkylene group; p is 0 or 1; q is 1 to 25; r and s are 0 when p is 0, and are 1 when p is 1; and n is a positive integer averaging from 1 to 5.
