<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a power conversion apparatus eliminating the need for a reactor and capable of reducing volume and weight in the power conversion apparatus configured by cascade-connecting a unit converter linked with a power system through a transformer. <P>SOLUTION: The power conversion apparatus links with a three-phase power system through the transformer and gives and receives an effective or reactive power to or from the three-phase power system. In the power conversion apparatus, a secondary winding for the transformer are open wound and has six terminals, and a first converter group consisting of a circuit star-connecting three converter arms is connected to three terminals of the secondary winding. In the power conversion apparatus, a second converter group consisting of a circuit star-connecting the other three converter arms is connected to the three terminals of the secondary winding, and a neutral point (a star-connected point) for the first converter group and a neutral point (the star-connected point) for the second converter group are used as output terminals for the power conversion apparatus, respectively. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2011,JPO&INPIT |
