PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a merchandise sales processing apparatus for letting an operator accurately know a key whose operation is necessary in achieving actual selling processing under such situations that an operator encounters a customer including the operation of a specific key for selecting specific processing in the selling processing, and for enabling an operator who is unfamiliar with an operation, and also even an operator who is familiar with the operation to achieve smooth and quick selling processing. SOLUTION: A keyboard 3 is provided with a plurality of keys which emit light and are operated according to the progressing of the selling processing of merchandise and at least one specific key which emits light and is operated with frequency which is lower than that of those keys for selecting specific processing in the selling processing of merchandise. Then, each key excluding the specific key is configured to be selectively lighted in such a scene in which the necessity of an operation accompanied by the progress of the selling processing of merchandise is generated.
