PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To easily perform support and verification for defining a definition of engineering inconsistency only by inputting a simple word (noun, verb, etc.). SOLUTION: A characteristic parameter selection support means includes: a first data acquisition section 80a for acquiring a noun (TD1) and a verb (TD2) of a sentence showing an adverse effect; a second data acquisition section 80b for acquiring a noun (TD3) and a verb (TD4) of a sentence showing a main function of an object; a third data acquisition section 80c for acquiring a noun (TD5) showing a function improving the main function; a second data acquisition section 80d for acquiring a noun (TD6) showing a function having a paradoxical relation with the function improving the main function; a first support display section 82a for performing, based on TD1-TD5, a display to support selection of a characteristic parameter related to engineering inconsistency which attains the main function; and a second support display section 82b for performing, based on TD1-TD4 and TD6, a display to support selection of a characteristic parameter for engineering inconsistency which solves the adverse effect.
