PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a low-costed cBN sintered body tool having a long service life by reducing damage to a lateral cutting blade part including a lateral cutting blade boundary part in rough machining of casted iron and in cutting work of a cutting retarding material such as a heat resistant alloy. SOLUTION: This cBN sintered body tool for cutting work uses a sintered body including cBN particles for a cutting blade part, and cBN content of the sintered body is 20-99 volume%. In a part of the cutting blade to be brought into contact with a cut material, x%-y% of the cutting quantity of the cutting blade in the feeding direction is formed from a cBN single crystal, x is 60-99 and y is 101 or more. Other parts of the cutting blade to be brought into contact with the cut material is formed from a cBN polycrystal. Damage to the blade edge lateral boundary part is thereby restricted by the cBN sintered body tool. COPYRIGHT: (C)2011,JPO&INPIT
