PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To realize a drum-type washing and drying machine with high drying performance which can efficiently reduce irregular drying and excessive drying, saves energy, and improves reliability. SOLUTION: The drum-type washing and drying machine has a control device 13 designed to keep an air temperature constant by adjusting the opening area of an air inlet and outlet 9 by driving a valve opening and closing motor 11 in accordance with an air temperature detected by an air temperature sensor 12. In a drying process, warm wind containing moisture evaporating from clothing in a drum 3 returns to a heat pump 6 again through an air duct 7 and is heated after being dehumidified and delivered into the drum 3 as high-temperature and low-humidity warm wind, whereby a series of drying circuits 16 is formed. Consequently, the machine can reduce energy losses due to an overshoot or an undershoot, and can efficiently dry the clothing by restraining variations in drying completion sensing.
