PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide unleaded gasoline the octane number of which can be ensured efficiently by optimizing the composition ratio and component ratio of gasoline base stocks so that the octane number improvement effect is made highest when ethers, alcohols or the like are blended in the unleaded gasoline. SOLUTION: The unleaded gasoline is obtained by blending 1-30 vol.% ethyl tertiary-butyl ether (ETBE) or ethanol in a mixture of a catalytically-cracked gasoline base stock (1) having specific composition ratio and component ratio with a catalytically-reformed gasoline base stock (2a) or (2b) and has specific properties such as the RON (research octane number) of ≥93 and <98.
