PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an image forming apparatus capable of correcting in-plane irregularity of potential characteristic of a photoreceptor, that means, density irregularity of an image efficiently, in a short time. SOLUTION: When a user judges that image density irregularity is not proper and depresses an adjustment start key 104a, a CPU 1011 prints a first test pattern (S2). The first test pattern is a pattern set to include maximum and minimum values of potential in photoreceptor potential irregularity data stored in a photoreceptor potential characteristics uneven data memory 105, in advance. When the user views the image density of the printed first test pattern and inputs a correction value from an operation part 104, the CPU 1011 calculates and updates potential data in the photoreceptor potential characteristic uneven data memory 105, based on the information of the input correction value (S4).
