PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To set the dimensions of the DASII at the part which is most desired to cool, in a molten metal, within a desired range upon casting. SOLUTION: The cavity insert 70 for casting has a double structure of an inner 88 and an outer 94. The inner 88 is composed by combining the first inner member 84 and the second inner member 86, and similarly, the outer 94 is composed by combining the first outer member 90 and the second outer member 92. In the inner 88 and the outer 94, respectively, a first cooling medium flow passage and a second cooling medium flow passage for circulating a first cooling medium and a second cooling medium are formed. The first cooling medium flow passage guides in such a manner that the first cooling medium is lifted to the upper part of the inner 88, namely toward the part in contact with a molten metal L, and is thereafter lowered toward the lower part of the inner 88. Similarly, the second cooling medium flow passage guides in such a manner that the second cooling medium is lifted toward the upper part of the outer 94 (the part in contact with the molten metal L), and is thereafter lowered toward the lower part of the outer 94.
