The carriage (2) has a carriage body (6) provided with rolling body raceways (8) and a recess (5) for accommodating a guide rail (1). Rolling bodies are unrolled on the rolling body raceways. A housing (7) is fastened to the carriage body and comprises a holder, which is partially arranged in the recess of the carriage body and fixes the rolling bodies at the carriage in a loss-proof manner. Housing parts of the housing are connected in a form-fit connection manner in hold positions. The housing is made of plastic. The rolling bodies are formed as balls. The guide rail is manufactured from steel grade X46Cr13. An independent claim is also included for a method for assembling a linear carriage.
