The piezoelectric actuator has an actuator body which has multiple ceramic layers (25,26,27,28) and multiple electrode layers (31,32,33) that are arranged between the ceramic layers. One electrode layer is formed from a material (46,47) which has a metal component and a glass component. The electrode layer is mechanically connected with the adjacent ceramic layers by the glass component of the material. Independent claims are also included for: (1) a fuel injection valve, particularly an injector for a fuel injection system; and (2) a method for producing a piezoelectric actuator.
