Obtaining feedback from subscriber communication units related to a broadcast service in a wireless communication system

A method for determining if there is a wireless subscriber unit in a wireless communication system interested in receiving a broadcast service is described. The method comprises transmitting a request message; seeking in response to the request message a response signal from a wireless subscriber unit comprising a particular signature sequence; and determining whether there is a wireless subscriber unit interested in receiving the broadcast service based on whether a response signal comprising the particular signature sequence is detected.
