APPARATUS AND METHOD FOR IDENTIFYING TRANSMITTER IN ATSC DTV SYSTEM

PURPOSE: An apparatus and a method for identifying a transmitter in an ATSC DTV system are provided to identify a watermark signal through an identifier with small calculation complexity, thereby drastically increasing DTV repetition quality when a multipath scenario is worst. CONSTITUTION: A signal is provided to each transmitter. A signal including an identification sequence directing the transmitter is combined. A TxID sequence received through a 3 state process is passed. A location of each state is provided to the first and second decimated sequences of TxID composed like decimated sequences. The TxID sequence is composed under each state based on an independent variable. Each of a multipath is independently treated in a correlation process.
