The present invention is related to determining the integrity of electrical wiring, said electrical wiring being connected to a normally open device at one end thereof. According to the present invention, the reliability of such wiring can be checked by placing a capacitor parallel to the normally open device. The integrity can then be determined by observing the transient response after a switch from a discharging state, in which the capacitor is discharged from another end of the wiring, to a charging state, in which the capacitor is charged for instance by voltage supply. The present invention provides an assembly, a device and a method related to this principle.
