PURPOSE: A guide track type railway is provided to reduce the width of the engineering structure of the track because a guide track for a compression guide wheel and a guide track for a retaining guide wheel are installed on the same side of a rail. CONSTITUTION: A guide track type railway comprises a guide arm(9), a guide track for a compression guide wheel(21), and a guide track for a retaining guide wheel(22). The guide arm is installed in a railway vehicle traveling on a rail and steers the wheel of the vehicle. A compression guide wheel(19) and a retaining guide wheel(20) are installed on an end of the guide arm. The guide track for a compression guide wheel presses the compression guide wheel for rolling contact. The guide track for a retaining guide wheel holds the retaining guide wheel for rolling contact. Both the tracks are installed on the same side of the rail except for a junction.
