PURPOSE: A mobile terminal including a light emitting module and a control method thereof are provided to drive a light emitting module in a desirable mode conveniently by setting an operating mode or other driving modes for the light emitting module. CONSTITUTION: A portable terminal displays a dot image on a display unit, wherein the dot image corresponds to the arrangement format of a light emitting device(S305). The portable terminal selects at least one dot from the dot image through touch input or proximity touch input(S310,S320,S330). In order to display the format corresponding to the selected dot, the portable terminal generates control data for driving the light emitting module.
