The invention relates to a composition comprising a plurality of influenza virus vectors for producing molecules of plus strand RNA and minus strand RNA useful to prepare high titer influenza viruses.The invention further provides a method to prepare “6+ reassortative influenza viruses using cloned cDNAs and reverse genetics.
