<p>PURPOSE: A rudder stock for a ship is provided to achieve reduced weight because the lower part is made of a non-metallic material. CONSTITUTION: A rudder stock(40) for a ship is inserted and installed in a rudder(100). At least the lower part(42) of the rudder stock is made of a non-metallic material such as fiber composites. The upper part of the rubber stock which is connected to a steering hear(11) is made of a metallic material. A metallic support member is provided on the lower part of the rudder stock to support the rudder stock against an external force, and comprises a force transfer/mounting element protruded from the bottom of the rudder stock to fix the rudder stock to a rudder blade(30).</p> |
