The platform (1) has a floor (3) supported by a framework (2) including a fixed central part (2a) and mobile lateral parts (2b, 2c). A sliding unit comprises beams (5a, 5b, 6a, 6b, 7a, 7b), and is arranged between the central part and each lateral part to allow a translation on respective lateral sides of the lateral parts with respect to the central part. A spacing device (13) is arranged between the central and lateral parts to exert translation force on the lateral parts. The floor includes an extension unit for stretching the floor on the lateral sides during spacing the lateral parts.
