PURPOSE: A device and a method for controlling a function of a portable terminal are provided to simplify a complicated process when a menu of an existing portable terminal is executed. CONSTITUTION: On an output image, a specific area is selected. A menu for controlling a function of a portable terminal is set in the specific area. A controller(100) controls the image to be stored. An image recognizing unit(102) detects a specific area for setting a menu for function control of the portable terminal.
