LIQUID CRYSTAL DISPLAY USING OPTICALLY ISOTROPIC LIQUID CRYSTAL MIXTURES

PURPOSE: A liquid crystal display using optically isotropic liquid crystal mixtures is provided to increase a contrast ratio by allowing a liquid crystal display to be optically isotropic in a darkness state display. CONSTITUTION: A liquid crystal layer(5-b) includes liquid crystal mixtures, and the liquid crystal mixtures has a negative dielectric anisotropy. The liquid crystal mixtures are optically isotropy, and a pixel electrode(9-b) is placed under the liquid crystal layer. A lower substrate(8-b) is the substrate for the liquid crystal layer and the pixel electrode. A lower polarizing plate(6-b) is placed under the lower substrate, and is perpendicular to an upper polarizing plate(6-a).
