PURPOSE: A method for compressing pixel data is provided to efficiently compress pixel data to reduce the size of data stored in an SDRAM. CONSTITUTION: The average value for pixel data is calculated(S110), and the bitmap information indicating the number larger or smaller than an average value is created by comparing the average value with the pixel data(S120). The two kinds of bitmap information adjacent to each other are compressed together to be compressed in one bitmap information(S130). A standard deviation value is created by using the compressed bitmap information(S140). |
