PURPOSE: An apparatus for automatically sorting and compacting cans, which can minimize instrument costs by using a combination of general equipment, is provided to recycle cans by sorting aluminum cans and steel cans on a separation conveyor using a magnetic force. CONSTITUTION: An apparatus for automatically sorting and compacting cans comprises a transfer conveyor(10), a separation conveyor(30), an aluminum can collector(20), and a steel can(40). The transfer conveyor transfers aluminum cans and steel cans. The aluminum can collector is located on lower end of the transfer conveyor. Aluminum cans falling through the aluminum can collector are input to the transfer conveyor when the upper plate of the transfer conveyor is opened. A rotary shaft(31) with a magnetic force is installed in one side of the separation conveyor. The separation conveyor sorts the steel cans.
