PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a cutting edge replacement type cutting tool having excellent wear resistance and chipping resistance in a more highly balanced state than a conventional cutting edge replacement type cutting tool. SOLUTION: In a cross section orthogonal to both of tangents of a cutting edge and an abutting surface of the cutting edge replacement type cutting tool, when a contact between a parallel surface 5 parallel to the abutting surface and a contour of a cross section on a rake surface 1 side is taken asα, a contact between an orthogonal surface 6 orthogonal to both of the abutting surface and the cross section and a contour of the cross section on a flank 3 side is taken asβ, an angle of the tangent at an arbitrary point x on a cutting edge ridge line which is a contour betweenαandβand the parallel surface 5 is taken asθx and a point on the cutting edge ridge line in whichθx is 45°is taken asγ, a radius Rγof a circle passing throughγand inscribed in the contour is set to 5-50μm.
