PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a device for removing foreign matter which can effectively remove foreign matter sinking way deep into the surface of a sheet-like material and even foreign matter, a part of which sticks hard to a sheet-like material, in addition to foreign matter adhering to the surface of a sheet-like material, and to provide a method of removing the foreign matter and the sheet-like material. SOLUTION: The device for removing foreign matter from the surface of the sheet-like material includes: an air blast means is installed to at least, one surface of the sheet-like material and can blast air to the sheet-like material in a traveling route for a sheet-like material manufacturing or processing line; a suction means is arranged so as to cover a reflection direction where the air blasted by the air blast means on the surface of the sheet-like material; and a pressure-sensitive adhesive roll is arranged on the opposite surface side of the installation surface where the air blast means for the sheet-like material, and is installed to space to the sheet-like material. The sheet-like material comes into contact with the pressure-sensitive adhesive roll cause of curving the sheet-like materials to the roll installation side by air-blasting from the air blast means.
