PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an organic electroluminescent element having excellent life and driving voltage of the luminescent element. SOLUTION: The organic electroluminescent element is produced by using the anthracene or naphthalene derivative compound having 2,2'-bipyridin-5-yl group which may be substituted, as an electron-transporting material.
