METHOD FOR PRODUCING POLYOXYALKYLENE ALCOHOL

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a method for producing a polyoxyalkylene alcohol wherein odor is improved.

SOLUTION: The method for producing a polyoxyalkylene alcohol (a) includes following processes (A)-(C). Processes (A): In a reaction tank (1), the polyoxyalkylene alcohol (a) is produced by addition-polymerizing alkylene oxide (f) to an active hydrogen-containing compound (e) under the presence of a Lewis acid catalyst (b) while removing continuously or intermittently a gas phase (d) containing a subsidiary compound (c) having a boiling point of ≤150°C at a pressure of 0.1 MPa to the outside of the reaction tank (1) to produce the polyoxyalkylene alcohol (a). Processes (B): The gas phase (d) removed to the outside of the reaction tank (1) is sent to a reaction tower (2) filled with a solid catalyst (g) to obtain a gas phase (h) by bringing the gas into contact with the solid catalyst (g). Processes (C): The alkylene oxide (f) is separated from the gas phase (h) by distillation and supplied to the reaction tank (1).
