<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a floating type sliding bearing device the whole length of the body of which is shortened. <P>SOLUTION: This floating type sliding bearing device is provided with: a bearing housing 41 having an oil chamber 42 to which a fluid is supplied; a rotor shaft 35 for being inserted into the oil chamber 42 of the bearing housing 41; a floating metal 51 arranged between the bearing housing 41 and the rotor shaft 35; and a fixing pin 61 for regulating movement of the floating metal 51 for the bearing housing 41 and supports the rotor shaft 35 via a film of the fluid formed between the rotor shaft 35 and the floating metal 51.
