<p><P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a honeycomb filter having high heat capacity and capable of reducing a temperature rise at the time of regeneration of the honeycomb filter. <P>SOLUTION: The honeycomb filter 100 is equipped with porous partition walls 3 demarcating the honeycomb filter to form a plurality of cells 2 becoming fluid flow channels and constituted so that open cells 2A, wherein the end parts 11 of them on a fluid inflow side are opened and the end parts 12 of them on a fluid outflow side are sealed by sealing parts 5, and open cells 2B, wherein the end parts 11 of them on the inflow side are sealed by the sealing parts 5 and the end parts 12 of them on the outflow side are opened, are alternately arranged, and at least one open cell 2B<SB>1</SB>of the end parts on the outflow side among the open cells 2B of the end parts on the outflow side is formed so that its cross section, which crosses the flow channel direction demarcated by the partition walls 3 at a right angle, has a shape in which the regions X corresponding to the corner parts in a polygon equal to or above a square of the cross section are formed into a circular arc shape. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2011,JPO&INPIT</p> |
