PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a cleaning unit and water cleaning facilities which effectively carry out cleaning of a first flash of surface drainage etc., and also easily maintain cleaning performance, and to provide a water cleaning method using the same. SOLUTION: The cleaning unit, freely detachable in water cleaning facilities, includes a wall part which forms a nearly square cylindrical metal-mesh basket with an upper part opened, and a film body, arranged at least the bottom part of the inner surface of the wall part, in which water passes but sand can not pass, wherein the sand is packed, also planting is carried out and water to be cleaned is passed to be cleaned through plants. The plurality of the cleaning units may be arranged with an inlet, where water flows into an outer wall of the unit, and an outlet, arranged at a sidewall facing the inlet, where water flows out outside the outer wall, and also may be arranged with a trough for dispersing flowing-in water into the inner part of the outer wall near the inlet.
