<p>The present invention relates to a novel cathodic catalyst system for catalyzing an electrolysis reaction, said catalyst system being based on an ordinary metal salt mixed with active carbon particles and with a proton exchange resin in solution, the metal of the metal salt being in the form of a cation with an oxidation state at least equal to two before electrolysis. This catalytic system is advantageously applied on a proton exchange membrane in order to form an assembled membrane electrode, this being a further subject of the invention. The invention also relates to an electrode modified by the catalytic system according to the invention and to a water electrolysis cell for the manufacture of hydrogen, incorporating one or other of said electrodes.</p> |
