PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a socket for a fluorescent tube capable of preventing a load from being added to a sealing part between a fluorescent tube and a lead part without adopting a ZIF structure in loading the fluorescent tube, and excellent in contact reliability of a contact in a simple structure. SOLUTION: The socket for electrically connecting the fluorescent tube to a power source side is provided with a housing equipped with a contact housing part with an upper part opened, a contact arranged at the housing part, and a cover part locked to an opening part of the housing. The contact includes a loading part loading the lead part of the fluorescent tube, and an elastic piece equipped with a pinching part for pinching as the leads are pressed in. The cover part includes a press-in part for pressing in the lead parts to the elastic piece, and a locking part locking to a locked part fitted to the housing. In locking the cover part to the housing, the press-in part fitted to the cover part comes in contact with the lead parts of the fluorescent tube, and presses the lead parts from the loading part of the elastic piece into the pinching part.
