PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To obtain a whole-surface driven plane-thin loudspeaker which hardly causes split vibration and gets a flat frequency characteristic and to manufacture a voice coil assembly which has high reproduction efficiency and fewer operating failures, brings about favorable work efficiency in manufacturing and controls manufacturing cost inexpensively and a loudspeaker using the same. SOLUTION: The voice coil assembly includes a rectangular voice coil including a rectangular bobbin formed with a rectangular cross section and a rectangular coil firmly attached to the rectangular bobbin and a rectangular headband member coupling a plurality of rectangular voice coils to one another in a grid pattern. A part of inner wall surfaces of the rectangular headband member is firmly attached to any of outer wall surfaces of the rectangular bobbins of the plural rectangular voice coils. The outer wall surfaces of the rectangular bobbins to which the inner wall surfaces of the rectangular headband member are not firmly attached and a part which is not firmly attached to the outer wall surfaces of the rectangular bobbins of the inner wall surfaces of the rectangular headband member define a rectangular space between a pair of rectangular voice coils which are adjacent to each other.
