PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an amplifier having high amplification efficiency and low distortion including a drive circuit. SOLUTION: An input radio frequency signal is branched into two signals by a distributor 13 and one branched signal is amplified by a carrier amplifier 11 according to a class AB operation point of the carrier amplifier 11. The other branched signal obtained by branching the radio frequency signal into two branched signals by the distributor 13 is phase-shifted by a phase shifter 14, and then amplified by a peak amplifier 12 according to an operation point set between a class AB operation point and a class B operation point. Then, the radio frequency signal amplified by the carrier amplifier 11 and the radio frequency signal amplified by the peak amplifier 12 are synthesized by a Doherty synthesis unit 15, and the synthesized radio frequency signal is output from an output terminal 17.
