PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To prevent an oil lubricated on the cylinder head 2 side from being stirred by a chain 10 when the oil is returned into an oil pan 3 via a chain case 11 through an oil drop passage 13 formed in a cylinder block 1 and opening at its front face, and to prevent the oil temperature from rising or the like. SOLUTION: Between the inner surface of the chain case 11 and the chain 10, a baffle plate 14 is installed to form an oil guide space 15 in the area to the inner surface of the chain case 11. A communication pipe 16 to lead the oil to the oil guide space 15 is installed, extending to the baffle plate 14 from the open end of the oil drop passage 13 at the front face of the cylinder block 1.
