The invention comprises a polyvinyl oxoalkanal derived from a C6-C18 oxo-aldehyde, particularly from oxo-octaldehyde, oxo-decaldehyde or oxo-tridecaldehyde. The products may be prepared by reacting polyvinyl alcohol or a polyvinyl ester such as the acetate with a C6-C18 oxo-aldehyde. Plasticizers, e.g. dioctyl adipate or phthalate, didecyl phthalate or trioctyl phosphate may also be present. |
